Reiki Healing is an ancient Japanese practice that has been around for thousands of years and is used to activate and harmonise our natural life energy. Its current form has been rediscovered by Mikao Usui (1865 - 1926) after years of research, practice and meditation.
Several years after developing Reiki, Mikao decided to enhance the practice of Reiki by adding five Reiki principles. Their purpose was to add spiritual balance to the Usui Reiki and help people realise that healing requires a conscious decision to improve oneself. This became an essential part of the Reiki healing experience.
For the Reiki Healing energy to have a lasting results, the client mush take an active part in the healing process and accept responsibility for her or his healing. This means that to completely enjoy the benefits of Reiki, this requires a lasting commitment to healing.
The five Reiki principles are:
Just For Today:
I release angry thoughts and feelings
I release thoughts of worry
I’m grateful for my many blessings
I practice expanding my consciousness
I’m gentle with all beings including myself
